Co-op Gives Money To Local Food And Farming

Bellingham, Wash. -- Bellingham’s Community Food Co-op is giving more money than ever to local food and farming projects.

The co-op’s farm fund this year has dished out over $15,000 to 12 local projects, the biggest amount in the program’s 11 year history.

Jean Rogers with the co-op says the farm fund is supported by co-op shoppers and donations from the community, and 100 percent of the fund goes to the recipients.

This year’s recipients include Cloud Mountain Farm Center, Bow Hill Blueberries, the Ferndale Public Market, and the Bellingham Food Bank.
