Washingtonians May Be Affected By Data Breach

OLYMPIA, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Washington's Insurance Commissioner says a data breach at Nationwide Insurance and Allied Insurance could affect up to 20,000 Washington residents.

Nationwide says it caught the intrusion quickly on October 3, but not before hackers got into the personal information of more than 1 million people.

A spokesman says some victims aren't Nationwide customers.

Nationwide is notifying possible victims by letter.
