Jay-Z and his rocker pal Chris Martin will welcome the New Year onstage at the Barclays Center in New York.

The "99 Problems" star and Martin's band Coldplay will play a gig for New Year's Eve revellers at the arena in Jay-Z's native Brooklyn.

The hip-hop star launched the new venue in September with eight sold-out concerts.
