WHATCOM, Wash. -- A Whatcom County couple is facing charges after deputies discovered a marijuana grow operation in their home.
Officers were called to sort out a domestic dispute at a home in the 4700 block of Aldrich Road last week when they smelled the strong odor of growing marijuana.
Whatcom County Undersheriff Jeff Parks says they got a search warrant, and found 73 pot plants growing in a garage.
Deputies seized the plants as well as 1.5 pounds of processed marijuana and several vicodin pills.
Parks says they also found four guns in the home, and one of the occupants is a convicted felon and isn't allowed to have any guns.
Thirty-five-year-old John Owens and 24-year-old Heather Ruff were booked into jail on suspicion of manufacturing marijuana, drug possession, maintaining a drug house, and other charges.
